Journey Through Scripture: Starting with the Gospels, Ending with Advent

We are about to embark on a life-changing journey through the Bible. The Bible is not just a book of stories—it’s the living Word of God, filled with timeless wisdom, deep truths, and the story of redemption that has the power to transform our lives.

Why Read the Bible?

The Bible is God's way of revealing Himself to us. It speaks to our hearts, answers our questions, and shows us how to live in a way that is pleasing to God. When we read the Bible, we aren’t just reading ancient texts; we’re encountering God’s voice, discovering His plans for humanity, and seeing His love in action. It's a journey of faith, growth, and deeper connection with Him.

Why Start with the Gospels?

We’ve chosen to begin with the Gospels—the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—because they focus on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Gospels are the heart of the Christian faith, showing us who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him. By starting here, we can build a strong foundation in understanding God’s love and plan for salvation.

In reading about Jesus’ life and ministry, we gain insight into His example of compassion, justice, and love for all people.

Why End the Year with Advent?

We will close the year with the Advent season, a time of anticipation and reflection. Advent is a beautiful way to reflect on the hope, peace, joy, and love that Jesus brings into the world. It prepares our hearts to celebrate Christmas, the arrival of our Savior, while also looking forward to His return. Advent ties together everything we’ve learned, reminding us that Jesus is not only the reason for the season, but also the answer to our deepest longings.

What to Expect

This journey will be both personal and communal. As we read together, we’ll discuss what we’re learning, share insights, and support each other in applying Scripture to our lives.

As we read, reflect, and grow in faith together, let’s discover God’s message for us and prepare our hearts for the greatest gift of all—Jesus.
